Frequently asked questions
Some of the following questions were asked about World Wiki (the free app). These are listed below to specify what has been addressed in World Wiki Plus.
Can you add more information per country?
Yes. In addition to the summary from Wikipedia site, World Wiki Plus now includes detailed information from the 2008 CIA World Factbook (published by the CIA). This includes:
- Introduction
- Map
- Geography

Can you add the functionality to listen to the national anthems of different countries?
Yes. World Wiki Plus now includes the function to play national anthems of most countries while the national flag in full screen mode. This function does require internet connection, preferably Wifi or 3G.
Why can't I play the national anthem of "country X"? It says, "it is currently not available."
Well, we have located and compiled the audio versions of most national anthems, but not all. You have probably selected a country for which we don't have the audio yet. Check out the list of countries with available national anthems. Note that we will continue to add more countries to this list. As we make them available on our servers, it will be automatically available in your app on iPhone/iPod touch.
Can we view the content in landscape mode?
Yes. Almost all the screens in World Wiki Plus can be viewed in portrait and landscape modes.
What is the 2008 World Factbook?
The 2008 World Factbook is a fine publication compiled by the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency of the United States). It includes detailed information about almost every country on the planet compiled in a book format published annually. An online version is maintained at https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/ and updated more frequently.
The World Factbook is in the public domain and may be used freely by anyone at anytime without seeking permission. However, please note that World Wiki Plus is in no way associated with the CIA. It simply makes the same information available in an easy to use format on the iPhone or iPod touch, as requested by many World Wiki users.
The application crashes as soon as I launch it. What do I do?
This issue was earlier reported with many third-party apps downloaded from the App Store. Many of these issues have been resolved since the 2.1 release of iPhone OS from Apple.
If you still see this issue, restarting your iPhone or iPod touch can fix this problem.
- Hold down the standby/power button for about 5 seconds.
- Slide the red slider to power the iPhone off.
- Once the iPhone is completely off, turn it on by pressing and holding the standby/power button.
- Try the application again once the iPhone turns on completely.
In most cases, where we have seen third-party iPhone apps crash, restarting the iPhone has fixed the problem. In rare cases, you may need to delete the application from your iTunes library, download it again from the App Store and re-synch it with your iPhone/iPod touch.
Please try the above before attempting to restore your iPhone or iPod touch. If you continue to have this issue, please let us know.
